RSVP questions: what should you ask your guests?
Useful attendance questions, menu choices and reply deadlines without a long form.
Start with attendance
Ask a clear question about the ceremony and dinner. When invitations differ, each guest should see only their own events. Collect attendance separately for accompanying guests and children.
Menus and practical needs
Offer the menu options your venue can actually provide. Ask for a meal choice rather than open-ended medical details; discuss sensitive needs privately. Give each question a clear purpose, such as accommodation or a shared transfer.
Keep the form friendly
Three or four thoughtful questions are usually easier to answer than a long questionnaire. A song request or short message can be optional. Make a response compulsory only when planning genuinely depends on it.
Deadlines and reminders
Choose a reply deadline that leaves time for your venue’s final guest count. A reminder should explain why a reply matters and how to change an earlier answer. Share personal invitation links privately.
